Here's me and my foster mom being silly!
(I really love my belly rubbed...:)

Here's me waking up after a nice afternoon nap!

Well I have been at my new foster home for a week now...and I am loving it! I have two new friends to play with, a comfy bed, tasty treats, and my foster family gives me lots of love. I am really enjoying this new life! My foster mom took some pictures of me in action, take a look...

I am going to be spayed soon (what's that???), and have already started my heartworm and Frontline treatments. My foster mom says I am really smart because I have already learned to sit nice, come when called and go into my crate when she asks me. I just like the treats! I am also really good about going potty outside.

My foster mom says that I would be a perfect dog for just about anybody. I would be great with kids, other dogs, and for people who have never had a dog before and would like one. I walk great on the leash and am very loving and affectionate. Would you like to be my forever home?

Hooray! I made it to my new foster home yesterday! At first I was a little confused about where I was, but then I met my foster mom's two other dogs, and got really excited. They welcomed me with warm dog kisses and made me feel right at home. We played and ran around outside for a couple hours, then I was so tired I fell asleep on a nice big comfy bed.

I really like being in the house, but I'm getting used to house living...my foster mom says "NO!" to being on the counter...that's for people only! I am really good about going potty outside with my other two new friends, and I like to lay in the grass and smell the nice breezes.

My Independence Day

It really is Independence Day! In a few days I'm going to be free!

I'm at a shelter in Kankakee, IL. Melanie is the very nice shelter worker here. Today she took me to what she called "The Spa" I look all pretty and smell good too!

I heard her talking on the phone yesterday to the Foster Care Coordinator for IL Bird Dog Rescue. I heard "That is great! I'm so happy you are going to take Karisma!"

That is great, but where am I going?! I heard talk of going to a foster home. OK with me, I'm not real sure what that is, but if humans are happy about it, so am I.

This is what IBR knows about me so far, I came to the shelter as a stray,I'm always happy with my tail wagging, I know how to sit when asked, and I walk well on a leash. I'm kid friendly, I met some the other day and they fed me some hot dogs. Those were YUMMY!

I am up to date on my shots and will be spayed before coming into the rescue. While in foster care I'll get a Micro Chip put in, that doesn't sound like any fun! But I'm told if I get out that will always help me find my way back home.

So check back soon. I'm going to a foster home with two other dogs, no cats, but I can be cat tested.

Happy Pointer Kisses,

Karisma "Kari"
